Diversity Matters
For the students, faculty and staff of the James I. Perkins College of Education, Diversity does indeed "matter". If you aren't aware of it, the COE has adopted a mission statement relating to diversity that reads as follows:The mission of the Perkins College of Education is to prepare competent, successful, caring and enthusiastic professionals of diverse backgrounds who are dedicated to responsible service, leadership, and social justice and continued professional and intellectual development.
We, the COE Diversity Committee, are planning exciting events that will continue to bring issues related to diversity to the forefront of our college. We invite colleagues in the COE and throughout SFA to assist us in increasing awareness regarding issues relating to diversity. Committee members for 2009-2010 are: - Lisa Mize - Associate Dean, Student Affairs, COE
- Erika Dillard, Assistant Professor, Elementary Education
- Chay Runnels, Assistant Professor, Human Sciences
- Al Larson, Assistant Professor, Human Services
- Neill Armstrong, Assistant Professor, Secondary Ed and Educational Leadership
- Linda Bobo, Assistant Professor, Kinesiology and Health Sciences
